Get set for the season with Lisa Barron…

The local style set is catching the Spring racing fever with fashionable femmes eying off the most fascinating hatinators and inspiring looks in their vie to claim the best dressed philly trackside come race day. Renowned Melbourne designer Lisa Barron has become synonymous with spring racing specialising in dresses with matching jackets in a colour or print to suit any Fashion in the Field enthusiast.

Season after season Lisa presents a carefully edited selection of floor sweeping gowns and special occasion outfits. But her suiting is also very popular with corporate customers who require classic tailoring with an edge. All of her garments are crafted right her in Australia for precision and quality. This also means the Lisa Barron collection is produced in minimum quantities to maintain the luxury tag, never over produced.

It’s this philosophy for fine quality, superior cuts and one-of-a-kind pieces that sets Lisa Barron apart and has attracted many celebrities from television, film, corporate and fashion industries. It’s also why LMFF has invited Lisa Barron to show at their festival for more than 15 years and in the 80’s, when supermodels became the worlds celebrities, Lisa had the opportunity to dress beauties such as Linda Evangelista, Claudia Schiffer, Helena Christensen, Naomi Campbell and many more. A career highlight was in 2006 when she was inducted into the Stonnington Fashion Hall of Fame along side many of her mentors.

The Lisa Barron summer 2011/12 collection (all made locally in Melbourne) has just been released. The campaign was shot against a backdrop of classic vintage cars to emulate the charm and beauty of the glamourous and playful era of the 1950s.

Never one to slow down, Lisa Barron is currently hard at work designing her Winter 2012 collection. In her tradition of creating a collection that translates global trends into original fashions, Lisa has refreshed the winter staples into her own version of glamour, grace and retro which forms the core of the range. The look is distinctively moodier than summer with a more luscious colour palette, including a revival of her distinctive leather pieces.

To see the latest Lisa Barron collection, visit Premiere – boutique trade event for exclusive labels this month from August 28-30 at the Royal Exhibition Building. To register visit, here.

  1. So pleased to have Lisa as one of my Hall of Fame-r’s. She’s the type of designer who creates clothing that you want to keep and that simply makes a woman look like a lady.

That last photograph in the car is divine (as is the dress)! Is it sequinned/shimmery?

yes she certainly has a knack for creating elegant clothing. ladylike fashion is a style that will never fade from a woman’s wardrobe. I love the last photograph too, I believe it is sequins.
